The Bureau of Customs (BOC) Port of Limay, under District Collector Atty. William B. Balayo has surpassed its collection target of P122, 304, 890, 000.00 for calendar year 2023 collecting P123,246,457,466.48 or a surplus of P941,567,466.48. Included in the number is the collection of BOC Sub-Port of Mariveles.
In 2020, the Port of Limay’s target collection was only P44,542, 896,185.64. In February 2021, collection at the Port of Limay drastically improved. It will be remembered that the Port of Limay had collections of P78,729,645,419.07 for calendar year 2022 surpassing its collection target by 48.44 percent or P25,690,681,912.10 compared to its target of P53,038,963, 506.97.
Balayo has been commended for the aggressive strategies employed to collect taxes and duties and to promote local and international investments, the digitization and streamlining of processes, and the enhancement of trade facilitation.
Port of Limay personnel were also cited for the effort and strong commitment to exceed the collection target.
